Phalana joined Bendable Labs after 13 years at the Drucker Institute where she served as director of learning. Phalana leads the Harbor Freight Leadership Lab, a program established in partnership with Harbor Freight Tools for Schools that aims to boost K-12 skilled trades education by developing effective leaders. In her role at the institute, she drove learning throughout all programs, including producing online courses for managers and rising public sector leaders, designing digital learning modules for a national nonprofit performance recognition program and delivering the youth-centered Drucker for Future Japanese Leaders curriculum. Phalana is passionate about building the capacity for agency and empathy in learners of all ages. A proud “Double Hoo,” she holds a B.A. in history and M.A. in teaching from the University of Virginia. When she isn’t working, Phalana is an avid racewalker and a struggling student of the Japanese language.
