Our work

Bendable is a digital platform that transforms the way underserved communities connect to the resources they need. It ensures that key services, benefits and skill-building opportunities reach the people who need them the most, whether they are coming into a public library, job center, community center, family resource center or senior living program. Our partnership with ADEii Health, a licensed behavioral health provider, ensures that patients in underserved communities have easy access to their treatment plans.

The Harbor Freight Leadership Lab, which Bendable Labs runs with Harbor Freight Tools for Schools, brings together leaders from across the K-12 skilled trades education ecosystem to deliver practical tools for their career advancement, deepen their connection to each other and elevate the sector’s performance, prestige and standing in society.

We designed the Library-based Employment, Growth and Upskilling Program, or LegUp, to ensure that librarians in Tennessee have the tools they need to help job seekers get onto a solid career path. At the same time, LegUp helps companies find entry-level workers who possess strong foundational skills. Residents participating in LegUp are able to earn a State Library-backed microcredential by completing 16 hours of online job-readiness training. Local employers have agreed to guarantee interviews to those who have completed the program.

Our data-driven tools help corporate leaders better serve all stakeholders, not just shareholders. Most recently, we developed for the Wall Street Journal Leadership Institute an annual ranking of the 250 most influential and effective directors at big, publicly traded U.S. companies—an ever-more essential role as corporations grapple with geopolitical turmoil, “once in a millennium” climate disasters that arrive every year and a relentless wave of technological disruption.

We’re helping Calbright—California’s free online community college—add value to the student experience and improve student outcomes by collaborating with trusted community organizations, like public libraries, to implement place-based services.

An initiative of the Advanced Education Research and Development Fund, AugmentED is exploring what opportunities emerge when the strengths of AI are combined with the strengths of human teachers to transform classroom teaching and learning. Bendable Labs is helping to lead AugmentED’s human-centered design process by bringing together teachers, students, AI experts and education researchers.

The AIMS Collaboratory, facilitated by Menlo Education Research, is composed of cross-sector teams committed to lifting up mathematics education, particularly for students of color and students affected by poverty. Bendable Labs supports knowledge-sharing and collaboration among community members, and is helping to advance AIMS’s strategy and communications. This project is supported by the Gates Foundation.
